Mariah Wheeler is retiring and closing down Joyful Jewel. Joyful Jewel was located at 44-A Hillsboro St, Pittsboro, NC 27312. The Joyful Jewel closes permanently in August 2020.
Mariah told the Chatham Record it was not due to the protests and COVID-19. However, it is not a secret that protesters are scaring away shoppers and making life very difficult for local business owners. Any shop owner will tell you their sales are down 35% – 50% on weekends when the protesters are out.
The Joyful Jewel will be missed. It was a great shop featuring a wide variety of artwork, shoes, clothing and unique gifts. If you were shopping in downtown Pittsboro, Joyful Jewel was definitely on your to do list.
